The Shop is a social enterprise that offers young people the opportunity to develop skills and employment experience in a supportive environment. Products range from sustainable in-house brands using upcycled fabric and reclaimed wood to small-scale manufacturing for local businesses.

 

Youth gain a diverse set of skills while working at The Shop including light work in tech, woodworking, textile recycling, sewing, packaging, product assembly and presentation. As a result, youth employed with The Shop are equipped with a versatile set of transferable skills both professionally, and personally.

 

The Shop offers manufacturing and packaging services for key partner agencies, including building Project Sucseed hydroponic units and assembling SmartICE sea-ice monitoring systems. The Shop is also a space to troubleshoot ideas, create prototypes, and incubate new Choices For Youth social enterprise ideas before bringing them to market.
